或許馬英九真的是為了在卸任前能在兩岸關係的官方定義上留名。換句話說，馬英九想藉由與習近平一握，鞏固自己在堅持九二共識上的成就，即使是一個象徵性的動作，都可以將九二共識提升成為兩岸重要指導原則，而且一旦達成了就不可能被輕易推翻。
